Song too high?

You may not be alone. Here are some tips from Bro. Chris:
Drop an octave
This means you sing the exact same melody in a lower register.
Find a harmony
When Bro. Chris or (another vocalist) is not leading a song, he may either sing a harmony or the melody an octave lower depending on who has the lead. Pay attention to Bro. Chris’ voice and try to follow him who might be singing a lower harmony that’s in your range.
Wait it out
While we always want to encourage singing, sometimes you may need to wait till the song comes to a section that you can sing. Simply wait, and meanwhile, think about the words being sung.
Try some technique
Breathe deeper using the organ called the diaphragm located at the base of your stirnum. When you breathe deeply, the diaphragm lowers creating ample space in the lungs for a stronger breath. Then to sing, push out that breath with the abdomen muscles into an open space in the mouth which creates sound resonance. Using technique better supports your effort to sing higher notes. Practice breathing like you're breathing in through a straw and feel your belly expand.
Why this key?
Know that our keys are picked for different reasons including bringing energy to a song, spotlighting radiant harmonies, or making a radio song easier to sing.

Not always perfect

Unfortunately, not every key is the perfect key for everyone. Hopefully these tips can help your efforts to sing as much as you can in praise and worship.
