Praise Team FAQ
What is the Praise Team?It consists of the Band and Choir.
Do I have to audition?Nope! It is recommended that prospective band members join us for practice a couple of times to meet us before committing long term.
Do I need to be at practice? It’s strongly encouraged to join us. There are 3 opportunities every week: --Choir at 6:30p on Wednesdays--Band at 7:30p on Wednesdays --7:30 on Sunday mornings (entire team)
How do I prepare on my own?YouTube/Spotify playlists are announced every Tuesday night. Specific choir practice tracks with sheet music are published on Thursday afternoons for weekend practice at your leisure.
Do I need to read music?Nope. There are a variety of skill levels serving together every week. Listening tracks are available every week on the Praise Team Wix Site for easy practice.
Is there an age restriction? All ages are invited to join the choir. If an elementary-aged child is interested, we recommend a parent or guardian join them on the platform. We are multi-generational.
Are there opportunities to sing solos?Yes! Talk to Brother Chris about your interest. However, keep in mind that it is expected that anyone who sings a solo also demonstrates teamwork.
Can I serve behind the scenes?Yes, we always need a ProPresenter operator to add to the rotation, or a light manager, or learn the sound system with our sound guys.
What is ProPresenter?A program that presents words, sermons, and video graphics on the screens. To learn, we encourage you to shadow an operator. See Brother Chris about this opportunity.
Can I just walk onto the platform and sing any Sunday?Absolutely! Walk up when you see the team move that way and we’ll find a spot for you. A YouTube link to preview this week's music is provided below:
